The Olympics began today in Beijing! I only got to see the beginning of the opening ceremony but so far it's amazing! My mom recorded the whole thing so I'll watch it this weekend ^_^ I feel especially proud to be Chinese right now =P

"唐心風暴"今天大結局。說真的，我不明白為什麼這部劇集會這麼受歡迎。除了"得得地"之外，其他角色都"好唔得"。我差點被大鮑，大契，細契氣死了!!! 還有Jackie的家人!!! 真的有人那麼面皮厚嗎？還是我太單純？終於，我都放棄了這套劇集，只是看看大結局而已。但是得得地，常在心，和Alfred的三角戀都寫得蠻好的。而陳毫拿到"最佳男主角"真是實至名歸!

When will the rain go away???

New Dogs Every Week

During the Christmas break a group of volunteers are planning on taking some of the dogs out to a dog park where they can run around off leash and have fun. Most of the volunteers have been with the dogs for a long time so they each have their favourites and know which dogs would be easier to handle outside the kennels, and which dogs would get along with each other. My problem is that I walk different dogs every week, and I fall in love with all of them! Haha. In the end someone picked a dog for me. This is Charcoal, the dog I will be bringing. He can be easily recognized by his round, waggy tail! I spent this Saturday getting to know him a bit before I have to bring him out. Good thing he loves people! Big Buddha and Tai O

Despite the late night on Saturday, we arrived in Tung Chung at 9am on Sunday, in order to avoid the tourist crowds. It paid off since we barely had to line up for the cable car up to Ngong Ping. A nice and sunny day again! :) (mostly) We opted for the standard cabin instead of the crystal cabin (with the glass floor) but the view was still pretty nice. In 20 minutes, we arrived at Ngong Ping. The view of Big Buddha from the Ngong Ping village entrance. As you can see, it was mainly sunny but a dark cloud hovered over part of the sky. We looked around some of the souvenir shops but didn't buy anything. I did take a picture outside the Fortune Cat store. Heading towards Big Buddha. When I came three years ago I didn't walk up the stairs to Big Buddha but this time we did! I think we were supposed to go up on the right side though.... Mid-Autumn Festival

Since the daily temperature is still 28-30 degrees on average, it definitely doesn't feel like "mid autumn". However it has already gotten a bit cooler, compared to what it was like a few weeks ago. Side note: "winter" in Hong Kong is defined as when the average daily temperature is lower than 18.8 degrees Celcius.... -.-  So maybe this IS "autumn" weather haha. It's predicted that by 2050, there will be no more winters in Hong Kong. Anyway, this is the second time I've spent mid-autumn festival in Hong Kong, the first time being in 1998. I don't remember much of that experience, but I'm pretty sure at one point we all sat around outside, enjoying good food and looking at the moon, and my sisters and I got to play with lanterns :) I didn't get a lantern this year but there was definitely lots of good food and a beautiful moon!
